Lights, camera, action! Exciting new project for Rescue 2

It appears that even tough stunt men need a hero standing by occasionally!

Over the weekend, Rescue 2 were asked to provide safety and rope rescue cover for a film production company.  The feature film was being shot in a large pumping station shaft in East London.

With 4 levels and a 25 meter drop, the production crew, parkour artists and stunt people needed an experienced standby rescue crew - and casualty recovery was set up using our Vortex System at the edge frame to provide a smooth means of extraction from the base of the chamber should it be required.

Team specialist Roger Negus said:
“Coming from an industrial rope access background and having just had my first experience of working with a film production crew, I had no idea how integrated rope access is within the film industry. Not just in access, rigging and safety, but fully integrated by providing methods for stunts and artists to perform safely. As the saying goes, you never stop learning.”

It was great experience for the team, and Rescue 2 hope to be involved in more work like this for the film industry in the future.

We cannot divulge any information about the film itself, and were not permitted to take any photography of the actual film being shot for obvious reasons - but here are a few images of the Rescue 2 team setting up during rehearsals on the Friday.
